Digital Art Center Taipei Volunteer Recruiting
I. Objects of volunteer recruiting
With a view to linking enthusiasm for art of young students and professional skills of
technology expert, the Digital Art Center Taipei invites those who can contribute services
for the promotion of digital art. In accordance with the personnel streamline policy, the
volunteer program will provide you with an opportunity to give back to the community as
well as to participate the promotion of digital art in Taiwan.
II. Date of recruiting
From Monday March 15 to Friday April 30, 2010 the first new volunteer recruit.
All applicants should send the request through mail, postmarked. Opening for volunteers
include: 1. Division of Art Administration 2. Division of Information technology 3. Division
of Editing and Interviewing Prospective recruits will receive written notice for face-to-face
interview. Results will be announced at our website.
III. Contents of service
1. Division of Art Administration
● Service at Exhibition Halls
● Maintenance of collection
● Assistance in extension education
● Assignments in administration
● Data processing
● Conduct guided tour in Exhibition/Center
2. Division of Information and Technology
●assistance for setting up and removal of exhibition
●support equipment, software maintenance
●conduct center related research
3. Division of Editing and Interviewing
●article and images editing, draft proof reading
●report on local and foreign artists and exhibitions
●interview local digital art artists
●production of Center e-news
Iv. Qualifications:
Adults aged over 20, with enthusiasm of art, long commitment of supporting the Center with spirit of service and sense of responsibility.
V. How to Apply
1.Fill out the application form (attachment 1) send to the Center within the abovementioned
application period with the following items:
● Resume (800-1000 words in Chinese)
● ID copy
● A review article required for the Division of Editing and Interviewing
● Transcripts of passed years required for current university students.
● Language skills test transcript (optional)
Note: the items will not be returned, please make a back up copy. Selected applicants will
be contacted for an interview. Qualified applicants will be informed the time to report for
duty and training.

VI. Training
Training program
1. First new volunteer training is schedule for June 2010. Badges will be issued upon
completion of training with which volunteers are entitled to the benefits of Center during
the service.
2. Completion of 4 pre-service training sessions, each session at least 4 hours, one
work shift required.
3. Training hours
Training courses 16 hours, pre-service training 16 hours; total 32 hours must be completed.
VII. Regulations
1.Work time: From Tuesday to Sunday, four hours each morning or afternoon session.
2.Rights:
a.Service related training is compulsory.
b.Respect colleagues, freedom, dignity,privacy and religion of individuals.
c.Ensure a safe and healthy working condition based on duty contents.
d.Under volunteer regulation article 16, the Center procures accident insurance for
volunteers.
e.Under volunteer regulation article 9, volunteers should receive basic training and specific
training in the division to promote and guarantee their service quality.
f.According to “Regulation of Honorary Volunteer Card”, after 3 years and 300 hours above
in service, volunteers can apply for the Honorary Volunteer Card
Obligations
a.Be punctual for duty, never report to duty late or leave work early.
b.Accept and carry out task time and place accordingly.
c.Fully understand assignments. Obey regulations and be professional.
d.Wear identification badges while on duty. Dress appropriate; keep pleasant smile and
good service manner.
e.Volunteers are subject to the rules and regulations of the Center and should participate
in the on-job training. Work shift table will be announced the previous month.
f.If the volunteer must be absent, notification must be submit to the head of Extension
division at least three days in advance. If a volunteer is absent without informing the
Center or leave the duty without permission, work hours will not be counted. If unable to
come to work on time, volunteer must ask for leave beforehand.
g.Decline any payment from visitors.
h.Badges are for personal identification, not transfer ispermitted.
i.Volunteers should not express their personal views on behalf of the Center.
Those whose conduct are considered unfit or violate the Center’s reputation, will be review
by the Center and should take legal responsibility and may be dismissed from the
volunteer program.
Privileges
(1)A T-shirt for pre-service training will be provided for trainee. In case of overtime, meal
will be provided as well.
(2) Free of charge publications of the Center.
(3) Free access to workshop. (1 workshop per month, pre-registration required with
limited opening)
(4) With volunteer badge, rights reserved for workshop and 10% discount of fee.
(5) Work hors, service attitude, teamwork, work ethics and performance are included
in assessment.
(6) Volunteer with outstanding performance and good service attitude will be recommended
for reward.
(7) Volunteer with good service hour record will be recommended for training workshop,
seminar or social activities.
(8) Subsidies for exhibition ticket will depend on service hour credits.
